Recently we have been publicising our first Annual General Meeting and many of you have registered as voting members. The AGM will be via Zoom using online and telephone access on Thursday 25th March 2021 in the afternoon. We are now asking that you let us know if you have any nominations for the role of Trustee or any business proposals you want the AGM to consider. Listeners should include a reply note in their next returning pouch or by leaving a message on the answerphone on 0300 330 1404 or by email at info@btna.org.uk.
This year the existing trustees are required to retire. We need therefore to appoint up to 9 trustees and in particular a Chair and a Treasurer. If you would be prepared to help us as a trustee, or nominate somebody else, please let us have details before February 18th. Thank you.

“As promised last week, this is a further message from Birmingham Talking Newspaper for the Blind and Visually Impaired, the charitable incorporated organisation that produces your weekly Talking Newspaper.
Last year we made several changes to the organisation. One consequence of those changes is that we need to run an Annual General Meeting before end-April 2021 and elect new trustees. And so we also need to create a register of voting members. We had planned to do all of this by July 2020 but COVID19 rather upset those plans.
The intention now is to hold the Annual General Meeting on Thursday 25 March (afternoon)
We are inviting existing volunteers (readers, technicians etc) and listeners to register as Members before 28 February if they are interested in doing so.
You will find a blank registration document in your pouch this week. It asks you to provide your name, your phone number and your email or postal address It is probable that the AGM will be an online event (by Zoom or telephone) hence the request for contact details, especially email and phone number. [ If you get a second blank after you have returned one, please ignore it]
If you wish to register as a voting member please complete the registration document and enclose it with your memory stick in your next returning pouch.
You may alternatively telephone our answerphone on 0300 330 1404 and leave your details there: name; phone number and email address or postal address. That is 0300 330 1404 and leave your name; phone number and email address or postal address.
Thank you for your help with this. Please also listen out for further information about the AGM in subsequent issues of Birmingham Talking News audio publications.”
